The Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant is located in Hongyanhe Town, Wafangdian, Dalian City, Liaoning Province, on the east coast of Liaodong Bay in Bohai Sea, 270km north of Shenyang and 110km south of Dalian. The first phase of the project adopts CPR1000 nuclear power technology with independent intellectual property rights in China, and constructs four million kilowatt units. The second phase of the project adopts ACPR1000 nuclear power technology and constructs two million kilowatt units. At present, Units 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the Hongyanhe Phase I project have been successfully put into commercial operation, while Units 5 and 6 of the Phase II project started construction on March 29, 2015.
